Second Life
Please join us at MODSIM WORLD CANADA to see and experience two of our conference track presentations virtually from Second Life:

What is Second Life?
Second Life is a 3D virtual world where people interact through avatars with other residents. This virtual environment provides a means for greater collaboration, social interactions, and meetings with reduced travel costs, no jet lag, and less carbon footprint by reducing the need for travel. Created by Linden Lab in 2003, Second Life has over 18 million registered users and is also being used by most major universities, U.S. military, and many government agencies and corporations. While Second Life has been used by some as a place for virtual exploration, it also has a great range of powerful capabilities for modeling and simulation and training within this immersive environment.
